Kirra is probably one of the most famous Australian beach for surfing. So it's logical that a bloke like me who has never surfed comes here buys a board and goes out there in the middle of all pro's to catch some waves. Someone would probably say that it's a stupid idea, but I guess that coming all the way to the other side of the world to start a new hobby is too. So we bought a surfboard. We either got a really good deal or were totally ripped off. I can't really tell since I don't know a thing about surfboards. But either way it was about the time to get one, we've been here so long and I really don't find bodyboarding that interesting (we got a bodyboard with the car). After buying the board we went out to test it. It wasn't a good day, it was windy and there were only small bumpy waves. But it didn't matter, because before actually surfing I'll have to learn to paddle and other stuff. We had fun with boards for an hour or so and then came back to the caravan park. Joe wanted to smoke a joint, so I rolled one and smoked a little myself too. It got me relaxed and took the pain away from my ankle which had started aching earlier. Few hours of chilling then I made some food and went to sleep.
