Luxury of sauna

Except the fact that the YHA backpackers I am currently staying is one of the most expensive hostels I've been in, it has some luxuries other backpacker accommodations lack. In 9th floor they have swimming pool and a real sauna. During the last three nights I've spent there, I have used it twice a day.

It is unbelievable how good it feels to go to the sauna after such a long break. Of course sometimes during the hottest season, SuicideCow has felt like one and sometimes we have considered even building one in tent by using gascooker. But a can of beer in hand, 85 degrees and other can (already consumed) to throw water with, life is good.

Only thing between genuine sauna experience and this is that you'll have to wear something in sauna. It is very strange to sit in sauna with your boardshorts on, but in couple of sessions you almost get used to it. And it is hard to tell how often they wash that sauna anyway..

And in sauna it is possible to educate foreigners about proper use of the facility. Yesterday I almost had to hit two americans who thought it was too hot and thought it might be a good idea to leave the door open to get the temperature down. Bastards. I won the argument and continued enjoying myself with japanese.
