Pederasts of the Universe

I just realized how few have my diary entries been during this month. This is mainly because there haven't been much to tell. Last week has been spent mainly drinking, most of the nights at Indy's Backpackers where I stayed until today. It was quite nice to have another traveller from Helsinki to keep company with and with Tero we fell into tradition of drinking the finnish way. That is to concentrate in the main event, drinking, and avoid things that would restrict it, like having fun.

Why I am really writing this is because yesterday we went to movies and saw Star Wars, Episode III. It sucked. Characters were boring and instead of seeing rage or hatred, the dark side more accurately looked like mentally disabled people having a cranky day. Not that the other side would have been more imaginative. What does it tell about a movie, if the best character is muppet crossbred from frogs and dwarfs? Some might say the action scenes are good. I say they suck as well. Go and see Ong Bak to see how the fighting should look like on big screen.

After giving a moments thought for the whole plot of Star Wars, I came to conclusion that in the end it a story about love in classical sense. With classical I mean greek interpretion of the relationship between teacher (older man) and a student (younger man). Teacher resembled jedi knight in several aspects. His responsibility was to help young man to learn what there is to know about culture, warfare, philosophy and love. Teacher personally taught student to love and the love between two men was considered more pure than love between man and a woman.

Why I am explaining this is that with this background Episode III is the climax in triangular drama between Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padme. Obi-Wan can't accept his student to fall in love with woman instead of him and because of this Anakin is teared apart. For some reason I just couldn't help myself thinking jedis and siths same kind of sexually free persons as Socrates and his bunch.

If you red this whole thing through, you might as well go to the poll section under Forums and give your opinion about Michael Jackson.

Long live education.
